Steps to Buy a House: Choosing a Home Inspector

Steps to Buy a House:  WHAT IS A HOME INSPECTION?

steps to buy a house - choosing a home inspectorA home inspection is a detailed analysis of a home's structure and all the systems within it.  A home inspection is one of the bigger steps to buy a house.  An inspection will determine that all visible areas of the home are working properly or that they are not functional to the capacity that they should be.

The inspection will show what systems may need repairing or which systems are too old and need replacing.  The areas of the home that are included in an inspection are the interior and exterior, from the roof to the foundation and most everything else in between.

If there are any problems that are found in a home inspection, then the certified inspector could make recommendations that the buyer might consider having a further investigation done.

A home inspection is only a visual inspection and is unable to assess or evaluate on issues that cannot be seen.

Steps to Buy a House: WHY DO I NEED A HOME INSPECTION?

When you are interested in a home you are looking for things like location, close to schools, nice layout, big bedrooms, and a beautiful yard.  The home inspector doesn’t concern himself with those factors.

A Home Inspector is more concerned about the age of the roof, water damage, leaking plumbing, broken windows and heating or plumbing systems that need to be replaced.

Taking the steps to buy a house & purchasing a home is one of the largest purchases you will probably ever make.  So having a home inspection will show you what you are buying.
